START

  1. Power TASCAM → Alesis → pedals → KAOSS → Mac.
  2. Headphones/monitors low; Mac audio = TASCAM.
  3. Ableton → open PFL JAM.
  4. Active tracks: 1 Zoned Kit · 2 miniKORG · 3 KAOSS · 6 MIXER · 7 mix · 8 clean.
  5. Clock master = Ableton. FCB bank 00.

Ready when you hear a dry source under Ableton transport.

Recipe (BPM 96 · 4/4)

  1. Rhythm — start a Zoned Kit groove (track 1).
  2. Tone — bring miniKORG (track 2) for 8 bars.
  3. Live — play a clean guitar/bass phrase into track 8.
  4. Loop — capture one RC-1 phrase (default loop order: RC-1 → KAOSS).
  5. Wet — send one layer through AUX / SPACE (DIRTY or SPACE board).
  6. Transition — KAOSS moment (feed TASCAM OUT 3/4 → KAOSS → IN 15/16).
  7. Subtract — mute/remove two layers; leave groove + one voice.
  8. STOP — Ableton stop; RC-1 stop/undo; lower monitors.

Recovery (one move)

Bad loop / wet runaway → RC-1 stop or mute AUX send → Ableton stop.

Ignore for now

  • Exact Thru5 THRU socket numbers (device-level fanout is enough)
  • ZeRO template names (UNKNOWN is honest)

  • Recording as a requirement (it is not)
