Degraded mode (automation)¶

A degraded mode is a defined partial failure state: automation, network, or power is not fully available, but safe manual or reduced-automation operation continues. The wiki separates failure class → manual safe state → who acts in SOPs and runbooks—not “silent best effort” when water, animals, or high voltage are involved.
